"A great company to work for, but they can't make payroll"

What do you like about working at Blue Ridge Networks?

"This company has a great product and an outstanding solution set. The management is great about letting the staff work in their own style so long as they perform adequately. All in all, it is a very relaxed workplace that maintains a focus on performance without being overbearing on the individual."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"This is a great company to work for, so long as you are able to support yourself until they can get back on their feet."

What don't you like about working at Blue Ridge Networks?

"The company was mismanaged at a high level for nearly a decade, with development focused on small one-offs for sales that were projected to be far larger than they actually were. Instead, they should have been focusing on keeping up with modern technology, and upgrading the product infrastructure. This has led to lower than expected sales that has limited their ability to meet payroll obligations on time, and forced salary cuts across the board."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Do a better job of anticipating future market needs, rather than trying to play catch up with what already exists. Spend more time developing infrastructure and less time on projects that could maybe work for a limited number of small customers. Look to what potential customers actually want and need, rather than what you think they should want."
