"Could use more personal influence on shaping a product, rather than having specs handed to me to implement."

"More modern technologies, especially use of web. Removal of as much legacy as possible. More documentation."

"The job was good. The people there are very bright and well knowledgable about the work that they do. However there is a lot of politics involved. Too much inner tension that can affect the efficiency of work being done."

"old technology, proprietary systems giving me knowledge useless elsewhere, not sharing practices with outside world"

"Modernize technology used by developers, foster high quality software engineer practices and learningMore flexibility to work on fun projects"

"I hate to say it but while the company has a lot going for it, it's just no place to be a technologist."

"Not much more to say. I think it might be a good company for young technical employees with no experience, or for ones who have been around for a while and have a lot of skills in legacy systems but I think anyone else would do better at a more progressive company."

"A pantry of free snacks is not a reason to work for a company. Bloomberg demands long hours with insane travel amounts for their employees. Their targets for growth and compensation are not in line with the work they demand."

"Laughably outdated technology in use, in some case decades behind modern IT practices, contractors such as myself were treated like second class citizens due to lack of autonomy and access, the open office environment was a constant dull roar, hence why so many people resorted to noise cancelling headphones to actually get any work done, etc. I regret having worked here."

"I worked as a Systems Engineer contractor at Bloomberg for approximately 8 months. I met and worked with some great people who truly knew what they were doing, and for that I am grateful. However, I was shocked and utterly flabbergasted at the antiquated and primitive manner in which business was conducted. Quite frankly, it was as if they had stopped developing in the late 1990s, either due to no need to improve further because of their market position, inability to do so, or both. They were just starting to implement technologies that were standard five years ago. The tech debt Bloomberg has to work on is staggering."

"You have to prove yourself so be prepared and honest."

"The hours were very long and as in most companies the politics."

"To always listen to your staff and explain situations so that they can fully understand."
