"I’ve been with this company for over 5 yrs. I have gotten one .35 cent raise. I couldn’t work for 3 months when Covid hit due to daycare closings. They wouldn’t help me at all and denied my unemployment claim, which I’m still trying to get lost wages, a year later. Upon returning to work, I’ve had to quarantine for 14 days 3 separate times due to Covid exposure (AT WORK!) and they didn’t pay for any of it. There are no Christmas bonuses. Not even for a nurse working through a pandemic! The gifts they give are items with co. logo on (for advertising). These items aren’t of any use to me or my family. This year it was a vest that I donated to Goodwill and honestly, it was very insulting. A gallon of milk would have been more beneficial. Communication is awful. I’ve showed up for many shifts only to hear the client’s family say “We told them we didn’t need you today”. They will not pay you for this either, even being no fault of your own. I’ve told them I still have daycare to pay and they could care less. Some parents are continuously late getting home to relieve you which has cost me extra $ many times for arriving to daycare after closing time. They will not compensate for that. I’ve been late for a flight, a funeral and dance recital because of this. The only reason I continue to stay is because the drive is very convenient for me at the moment. They send out employee surveys, yet nothing changes. My co workers all agree. They call constantly on my days off. They obviously don’t care about your family time. It takes forever to accumulate any PTO and the benefits are way too expensive. I have went years without healthcare and I only have it now because I have missed so much work due to multiple quarantines and snow days without pay that I have qualified for Medicaid. The only benefit I can see with BAYADA is the sweet children whose life you get to be a part of and when needing to call off you aren’t penalized for it."
"I have worked at BAYADA Home Health Care for the last two years. They are a large healthcare company focused on caring for individuals who are recovering in their own homes instead of a hospital. This company has the best intentions and great support for all of its employees. I highly recommend this as a career path for anyone who wants to be involved in healthcare."
"Worked for the company for 7 years. Don't see eye to eye with them morally. Money focused. Provide a needed service to the community but takes advantage of the people providing that service."
"It seems like most in this field have lost their marbles. I had several things I was going to say but it makes me to sad to think about and my Dr had told me to quit before my BP killed me. I ask myself how they get so many good or even average reviews and I come up blank. Are they living in a fantasy world where They don’t realize what’s being done to them or maybe they are one of them..?. I’m saying very poor for everything because overall it is and I am paranoid They will fire me if They find out who I am. I don’t think They know how miserable I am. Thumbs down for CEO is for all the bad things I have heard and read about upper Management."
"Learn what a raise is!!!"
"At first they are flexible with you. Then, you get sucked in. You often either get too many hours or not enough. In the event that you get a regular 40 hour work week the schedule is not made functional or doable. On paper, you're getting your 40 hours in, sure, but it's not a very functional schedule and in order to complete those hours you may not get to eat or sleep between patients. It makes you want to turn down a shift or two for your own sanity and health - either that or get your hours in and feel overworked, tired, and starving. In a hospital three 12 hour shifts doesn't seem like a lot but it certainly does you in - well, in home health, it's apparently okay to work nurses close to 12, even 14 hours, 3 times a week PLUS a few shorter shifts all in a week. Sure, the other 2 days are shorter, but do hospitals frequently schedule nurses for 3 twelve hour shifts plus a few shorter shifts to make up a 5 day work week? No, not typically. It does take a toll on you. So forget 3 twelve hour shifts a week or 5 eight hour shifts... you'll get it all mixed together and struggle to maintain your sanity, health, get sleep, and eat properly. If you do want a functional schedule that doesn't kill you - be prepared to work several hours less than full time. Almost worth it, though, except you don't get benefits then."
"The people in the office are very nice and the little bit that you do see the other nurses they are nice and helpful too. The pay is below average but you only have one patient so it is understandable. Benefits are horribly expensive and hours are not consistent. In order to have full time work you either have to work overnights with no extra diff, last minute fill-ins or work part time until new patients come in. Plus you have to spend time to drop off paperwork weekly at the office in order to get paid. Training is great and you can learn a lot but some specialty training is only done a few times a year. Over all not a bad place to work if you have/need flexible hours And not full time work."
"The cult-like Bayada Way touts service excellence, compassion, quality etc.The executives and managers remain removed from the people that actually follow through with this mission. Nepotism abounds. Directors and Regional Managers are young, inexperienced and unqualified to be managers. Directors do not have health care backgrounds. They rely on those they manage to provide them with the medical info they need to do their jobs Sweat shop feel. Aides do not make enough $ to make a living. No benefits."
"This company's success can be attributed to the certified nurses aides, who, for their sweat producing and back breaking work are paid $9.00/hr. They cannot make a living off this salary and most need 2 jobs. The situation is similar to the sweat shops in foreign countries. The company gains all its wealth from the aides yet the aides are not offered benefits, bonuses, gifts (Movado watch for Christmas), yearly trips (all expenses paid) like the office staff and admins."
"low salary very low support systrm un apathetic"
