"Most of the entry level technicians had more expertise in the field than did the managers who were promoted by the buddy system. If you didn't hang out with the right people you were always stuck at the bottom."

"Have a better system of checks and balances to make sure managers have the adequate knowledge to hold their positions."

"Don't believe a thing they will cut you out of your job the second things go bad."

What don't you like about working at Avnet?

"Corp. hierarchy doesn't care about the employees at the first sign of trouble they cut 100's of employees. That changes peoples lives but they still can earn huge salaries and don't care about the people at all."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop professing CORE VALUES and not living up to them. One of them is INTEGRIY, they have non or loyalty to the people that give their time and heart to the company."

"Benefit and compensation package was adequate, they could do better and internally, slow to adapt to computer technology updates or training."

"Do more for their off site employees as corporate received more benefits and need more growth opportunities out in the field."

"many managment changes created a lack of focus"

"Be prepared with great skills for a top notch sales team."

What don't you like about working at Avnet?

"it changed and loss some of it's best qualities when management became less invested in team effort and were less approachable. They used to be brainstorming for success along with team. Now they just give marching orders."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"realize that when you let your vested employees go if they start to lose momentuem then you are really not taking a hard look at yourself. Invest in your employee's as they have invested in your success. At the end of the day you have to have role models and mentors for the Avnet of tomorrow. It can not be a one sided effort, don't let down the folks that originally got you to where you are today. Look at the years that Avnet was most successful and understand why."

"I enjoyed being a part of a team that was entrepreneurial. Avnet is a well respected company. The salary and benefits were great."

"Develop relationships with people outside of the divison that you are working for."

"Mobility Solution group was a start up with in a large $18 Billion company. The divisions top managers were not well versed in the mobility industry. Therefore, support from Top Management was limited. Many of the back office systems needed to be streamlined for efficiency."

"When starting a new division, allocate your existing resources to support marketing, customer service, finance and shipping."
