4.5I've worked for Avalara for nearly 6 years starting in 2014, in that time I've found the job to be both challenging and exceptionally rewarding. The products and services have been regularly expanding and never had difficulty with market fit, resulting in significant growth. However the company has struggled to maintain a healthy culture during this sustained rapid growth; they have made efforts to amend this but there is still significant room to improve. The engineering and product organizations are an dynamic part of the company full of plenty of opportunities for experience in enterprise-scale international cloud service development.
1.7I have been working for Avalara for two years. It was great in the beginning but as the company began to grow, production from employees began to decrease. First of all this is not a sales job but a telemarketing position with no room for advancement unless you are in a clique. I'm looking every day for work elsewhere but until then, hoping to get fired like everyone else is.
3I enjoyed the job environment and my colleagues, but my manager had an issue with me from the start. Despite meeting or exceeding quota from the start, every little issue would be raised to the point where I was frustrated and devoid of the passion I originally came into the position with. I was fired for menial administrative issues that my manager had with me, despite my great relationship with leadership in other capacities. It was a toxic relationship, that I will grow from.
