"The owner ties you to the whipping post and both mangers of service in the past and present are a real works if art ........."

"Nothing keep up the great work and let them stay there so they won't be out in any other place other then there"

"Don't over-hire unless you pay them hourly. Make sure you have enough work for your flat rate technicians"

"implemented major operational changes without a thourough feasibility study, which did not produce desired results which in turn increased dissatisfaction and lowered moral which lowered productivity"

"just like vehicles, concepts may dazzle and excite but an inoperable floor model will always be beaten by a car that is already up and running. the optimistic plan should have lost to the currently proven highly successful operation."

"Realize that it's your employees that make the company run well or not at all..."

"Allowed me to use my entire skill set. Was the culmination of all my years old experience."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Keep an open mind. They were purchased by a German company and forced to abandon a successful product line. There is still a lot of resentment there. The company has been around for a long time and that is good. The down side of that is there is a tendency to repeat past mistakes because of some lapses in leadership. The company has good bones and tends to retain it's employees. The only reason I am not still with them is due to health. But, I have now been correctly diagnosed and am returning to the workforce."
What don't you like about working at Bell & Howell?
"A bit too rigid in being satisfied with the status quo. Also, did not treat all employees equally for patent awards."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Have more vision and learn from past mistakes. Most of all do not ship a product until you know it will perform to the customers expectations."
