"Frustrated. Unappreciated. Overworked."

What do you like about working at AT&T?

"The money is great. The job can be rewarding when customers are grateful, but all too often, they are upset before I even arrive due to dealing with overseas agents, call trees, and spending hours on the phone with people who get their requests wrong."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Abandon hope, all ye who enter here!"

What don't you like about working at AT&T?

"Being held accountable for situations beyond my control. For instance, if, after I repair a customer's service, they call back in for ANYTHING on that same service within 10 days, it is considered a repeat and I show up on a list. AT&T mistakenly takes these lists as a quality issue, which is anything but correct. The company also has the ability to FORCE overtime. I have no social life at all and my family life is suffering due to the fact that, instead of hiring more people to keep up with what they are calling a decline in core wire-line service (which is not exactly a true-ism), they are forcing overtime on us."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Less micromanagement. Let me do my job without the microscope. It's hard to spread sunshine with a raincloud hanging over your head. I agree, management has to have a way to determine if I am doing my job. Showing up on some bogus list isn't it."
