"share governance a bit more with faculty. Run ideas through senators prior to starting new initiatives"

"The non-supportive people and politics are completely frustrating and make me dread going in every day."

"That running the shuttle around campus, which is a short distance, and charging students for it be halted."

"Well it is not challenging. Everyday it is the same thing. The same questions, the same answers and the same responsibilities."

"Lots of freedom and independence. Nice atmosphere. Friendly colleagues. Town is nice."

"It pays relatively poorly compared to other universities. Ask about frequency of raises and tenure requirements."

"Academic bureaucracy is deadening. Location is terrible. Student body barely competent."

"Fire 1/3 of the administration. Give raises to people who actually teach."

"Get everything in writing. Ask how expectations will be prioritized. Find out if there are women who are really successful in your department."

"Demands are unreasonable and unstated, there is subtle gender discrimination, too much politics, not enough attention to quality"

"Have a definite vision for the department, give strong support to research, support new faculty, make more realistic expectations, show employees they are valued, stop focusing on the nitpicky bureaucratic stuff"

"Teaching, particularly undergraduate classes. I'd rather spend time on research."

"Reduce the teaching load, less administrative work for junior faculty."

"The after hours and weekend workload can be intense at times."

"Focus more on less areas and give us more direct objectives"

"I have a high degree of autonomy, so higher ups don't really affect me."

"Be aware that they don't support high achievers. Doing the bare minimum is fine as long as you get on board with the ideology."

"I don't have all the resources to do the kind of work I want to do. It is located in a geographic hellhole."

"I would institute more accepting policies toward same sex staff. Fund research better. Improve honors program."
