"I loved working at the site in Andover; the corporate headquarters, toward the end of my 10 years - were not pleasant at all."

"Do not go there - unless the executive corporate culture changes."
What don't you like about working at Applied Micro Circuits?
"The executive staff (headquarters) were not very wise or oriented toward fair/team-building practices. They sent a lot of jobs overseas - when they could have hired more American employees."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"The satellite I worked at was wonderful; however the management at my site was beholding to corporate who were fine until the last year of my stay there. At this point - things were very timultuous and very unfair to employees. Nepotism existed and jobs were placed by more non-Americans than Americans."
What do you like about working at Applied Micro Circuits?
"The responsibility for the most complex and advanced project at AMCC: the YunI Switch Fabric chipset and customer satisfaction. Responsibility for all aspects of the program: design, marketing, corporate customer interface/management, company priority. The most gratifying was that the project generated more income than any other project because the customer was committed and we executed."
What don't you like about working at Applied Micro Circuits?
"Didn't have a four-year degree at the time, which limited my title; unable to get director title without bachelor's degree, which I am completing with a 3.9 GPA. Also had to drive 58 miles each way, but had carpoolers that were good company. Great team and teamwork. Few excuses and lots of respect."
