"I was the technical person interviewing many technical people for AOL employment. There is no better person than me to offer suggestions. But I am now stressed because AOL did not recognize my contributions. So, unfortunately I cannot comment on this."

"Be open about the strategy. Recognize employees who go beyond call of duty to help company succeed. I had been a faithful servant working far beyond my called duties, assuming responsibilities not any other DBA took. But the company failed to recognize that."

"They are in the middle of massive layoffs and a business restructure."

"AOL is not the company that it used to be, they are changing directions and there are a lot of people leaving due to uncertainty."

"The people at AOL are great and the management team was fantastic. The problem is stemming from the lack of income and capital."

"Now is not the time to join AOL since it was announced 1/3 the staff will be let go. When the business is back on its feet I would urge people to assist new management and current employees as they make AOL into what it used to be - a fun place to be."
What don't you like about working at AOL?
"The merger with TWX brought an end to much of what made AOL great. New media was held down by old media and members hated the result. AOL became a stock first and a content company second. My belief is that if you put out a good product the business will develop, Management believed you make the sale first and then create the product."
