"I have worked for this company for a year. In that time we have been bought out by American Family. We are currently in the process of working from home due to COVID 19 related issues. Our company was one of the last to deploy its employees to WFH. They provided us with laptops that make it a little more difficult to do out jobs as we typically work using dual monitors. Overall, my review of this company is that if you like knowing you will have a steady check and aren't worried about commission then you should apply."

"Look elsewhere, they don't care about you. The cafeteria is expensive."

"Contractors are treated horribly, there is no growth opportunity, I was moved to a project that was nothing like what I interviewed for."

"It will be one of the hardest things a person will do in their life time."

What don't you like about working at America Family Insurance?

"Employers do not give a chance to introduce the products."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management needs to create a family atmosphere and do more intensive training before sending out new agents."

"They have a finance plan to help starter agents build their business for the first four years. The catch is they find a reason to terminate your contract as soon as you reach that 4 year mark. They basically use you to build a business and then they steal it from you. This is a dirty practice that they have been getting away with for years. Complaints to upper management concerning racism or sexual harassment are not taken seriously. Instead you will be labeled and targeted for bullying. After four years of working over 60 hours a week I have nothing to show for a business that I created that generating over a million dollars in premium. I’m supposed to be making a six figure income but instead I’m rebuilding my life, sanity and career over simply because of the corporate greed of this horrible company. I would never suggest them to anyone. They will smile in your face while your building and stab you in the back once it’s built. Please don’t risk your sanity, stability and financial future by getting involved with them."

What do you like about working at America Family Insurance?

"The customers and how well I got to know them and how greatful they are when you are there for them when they and their family have suffered a devistating loss. I also enjoyed teaching my boss how to do things on the computer that he never cared to know and learn. It was nice to teach someone who taught me everything I know about insurance and brought me under his wing at such a young age."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be yourself and you have to enjoy customer service and insurance and you will do great."

What don't you like about working at America Family Insurance?

"Relying on someone else in another state to complete a change, new policy, or billing correction. I would have to answer to the upset customers and I was helpless, just waiting for another employee in corporate to process an emailed request for a mistake that the company made, not the customer. That is hard for me when I am completely helpless in resolving an issue for a customer."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"To allow for more changes to be made locally at the agency with corporate doing more of a checks and balances type of support rather than the acting primary authority."

"I was self employed and I was able to be a self starter. My success was based on how much effort I put in to it."

What don't you like about working at America Family Insurance?

"I had to start with my business with no costumers and build it up from there."

"I suggest that the employee who they choose should have good attitude and good moral ethics."
