"My manager, brought me and made me feel part of the team right away. She has allowed and encouraged me to take on new and exciting projects that allow me to grow my toolset and become a stronger, quicker, and more efficient programmer. The compensation is great for an intern and everyone is very welcoming."
"I worked for American Family for 14 years. They are very family orientated and everyone you worked with was easy going. They have great benefit options, paid holidays, PTO time. I would work there again if there were a position that fit my skill set."
"I worked at American Family for over six years. As I was changing careers I expected to start as an individual contributor, though I expected my management experience to make it possible to advance. However, that isn't how it worked out. The number one qualification to advance is to never upset leadership in any way, shape or form. It isn't what you know but who you know. Moreover the decisions made by leadership are frequently not confidence-inspiring."
"In recent years American Family has worked hard in integration and inclusion. As a company, I feel they are a great one to work for. In implementing the Lean system workers on the floor are now able to have to say in what they do every day to improve on that work which is something that has never been done before and I applaud it. There is nothing negative I can say about them. They are a great company to work for and they do look out for their own."
"I worked for Amfam for past five years as Release Manager and its very diverse in exploring various technologies and give a wide spread learning space to keep your technologies on par with current IT trend."
"How does this relate to the job applications"
"Great working environment. People were ready to accept new ideas."
"I've worked here for 4 years and have heard a lot about valuing employees and work/personal life balance. They just cancelled Christmas time off with less than 3 weeks notice regardless of any plans or arrangements you have made."
"I want to say that I am very thankful to my previous organization for giving me this opportunity to learn the things. Now I want to enhance my knowledge and skills. And take on new challenges with innovative ideas. New opportunities to learn and grow."
"An OK job environment with very limited opportunity for advancement. The bigger promotions are generally by appointment versus a true competitive process, although they go through the motions. This is the current version of the old boys' club, but it is not limited to men. To a significant degree, they are traveling on their reputation."
"if you like to be under the thumb of management and like to be micromanaged to death, then this company is for you!"
"I've worked for Am Fam for a year now and overall it is an ok place to work. The people I work with are good colleagues, but there is not much room to improve and move up."
