What do you like about working at AlliedBarton Security Services?

"I am an Operations Manager. I have my own book of business. As long as I take care of my employees and clients and make sure my numbers are in line it's pretty much like running my own business. I don't have to sit in an office 8 hours per day. It's part computer/administrative work and part out in the field visiting my employees at the client's sites."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It depends on what position they are applying for because it would determine who becomes their manager. I know I treated all my employees equally and fairly and always kept in mind that there are three sides to every story."

What don't you like about working at AlliedBarton Security Services?

"A lot of decisions in upper management tend to be politically based. You have to be aware of this and play the game."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Treat everyone the same and don't play favorites."

"They were a great company to work for untill they merged with Allied."

"I like Barton because the management belived in you all the way up to the founder of the company. There was also chances to move up and they didnt belittle there employees."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Dont work for Allied/Barton they are a crappy company. They lost all the accounts that Barton gained because they got rid of most of the personnel that the clients like and would deal with."

What don't you like about working at AlliedBarton Security Services?

"I didnt like when they merged with Allied because that company people are all for them selves. they dont take care of you and well right off the bat they said there will be no lay office but I was cut right off the bat and they were not going to give me any notice. I dont know about you but I have to work to servive I dont have money for when I am out of work I work pay check to pay check."

"I left because because they eliminated my position."

"No room to grow. Felt like you were just another number. Not a very people oriented company. You were only as good as yesterdays performance."

"Security is a throw away business. I think that Allied Barton needs to make efforts to retain employees that have been with the company for over 3 plus years."

"Allied Barton does try to invest a lot into their employees. At my site, the management team strives to give us the best equipment, provides us with solid training, and allows us to make suggestions openly. Our dispatch center is cutting-edge, the compensation is exceptional by industry standards and the supervisors are committed to helping those who wish to excel. Lastly, this site attracts some of the most talented people in the industry, such as former military personnel and police officers with a wide range of experiences, education, and training. The other specialists are great and working with these people is the highlight of this job for me."

What don't you like about working at AlliedBarton Security Services?

"As with all places of employment, there are positive and negative aspects of this location. The greatest challenges at this site deal largely with retention and advancement within the company. With so many exceptional individuals working at this site it is hard to promote people to positions at the site that reflect those individuals true potential. Additionally, it seems rare to learn of a person from this site moving up within the company. This personally surprises me given the caliber of the employees here. Retention is a challenge, as more people either quit or are removed from the site as opposed to being promoted within the company. These facts tend to have a negative affect on morale."
