"After working so hard rare chance to get good compensation and promotion. This problem happened after merger, earlier with Alcatel this kind of problem not there."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Please take care of your junior staff, engineer and senior engineer because they are giving hard work to company from gross route for continued success of company without taking care the geographical situation, even working in day and night and not good environment condition."

"Good people w/ good compensation package. That all changed before I left the company in 2007."

What don't you like about working at Alcatel-Lucent?

"Support as well as Engineering, little by little were moved off shore. Lucent's merge with Alcatel made things a lot worse."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I suggest that management could of perhaps diversified more, researched and developed new products and kept the jobs here in Oklahoma."

"No marketing, and senior level management didn't want any or understand why they would need it."

"I loved the people, and the job itself. I felt like I was contributing every day."

"Lucent is great place to work and have opportunity for career advancement. Lack of job security is an issue at Lucent."

"I enjoyed being on the leading edge of technology in terms of IP delivered television, data and VoIP/voice services."

"There are too many Lucent practices being implemented by Alcatel. As was proven, Lucent failed."

"Loved my job. I was a Systems Test Tech III. I was a floor supervisor. I worked in many aspects of submarine cable manufacturing and testing."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"They are not hiring. However, I still work for them as a private contractor working on cable ships deploying submarine cable systems manufactured in France."

"That they closed the plant in December of 2001. That was when I was laid off."

"Not their fault 1) 9-11 happened stock down 50pts 2) .COM fall down $1.00."

"The work was interesting. I felt that my efforts were recognized and rewarded. I enjoyed developing a product that was cutting edge in communications."

"Every five to seven years, there would be a layoff. Some times good competent people were let go and not so competent people retained."
