"Some of us did not have opportunities for advancement. Starting in technical support position is ok when you are young, but employees need to be given a chance to prove themselves in more challenging positions when they are ready."

"Provide choices for career paths for employees. Don't leave it to managers to ask other employees whether someone should be given a chance at a new position. It tends to give advancement to those who are the favorites, not necessarily the best qualified candidate."
