"I failed to take in consideration, the amount of negative reviews Adcetera had before my first day there. I thought that those were perhaps disgruntled ex-employees but wow, was I so wrong. In short, you are probably a better designer, better worker, better person and deserve better than stepping foot into Adcetera. They have created an environment that is so stifling to designers, I am surprised they actually create the work that they do. Sure they have big clients....for Houston. But you look at other big agencies here and wonder why Adcetera is getting the low-grade work while the others are doing much cooler work. I've never seen an agency try so hard to force a culture onto their employees. The building feels like a stale, lime green and laminate hole where creativity goes to ***die***."
"I worked for Adcetera for a year before it became unbearable to work there. The amount of sexism and harassment felt throughout the company and from management make this place somewhere I wouldn't recommend any woman seek employment from."
"The company is full of nepotism, with room to spare for politics. I had such a horrible experience with this company. I had a great experience with my supervisor and team for the most part. The owners are self-righteous and egotistical at best. The owners are very greedy and constantly expect you to work overtime for peanuts. They are clueless about what their employees are worth. There is no way to move up unless you kiss-ass to certain people. You are in constant fear of being fired."
"Family owned business, very controlling, not flexible"
What do you like about working at Adcetera?
"The parties were great, but they didn't make up for the constrictive work environment."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be careful of the gloss they try to sell you on when you interview. Ask hard questions."
What don't you like about working at Adcetera?
"For a relatively small company it is very political. If you don't kiss up to the proper people you never feel secure. They like making it appear as a family on the surface but its not."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I don't have any suggestions for management beyond stop trying to create the illusion that you are a friendly family environment and make it into a place people actually would want to come to work."
