Working at AAR Corporation in Goldsboro, NC: 4 Employee Reviews

Test Engineer

What do you like about working at AAR Corporation?

"Interesting work. I'm amazed they have been able to hang onto the contract with Airbus."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Run away. Run far away. Don't waste your time unless you have no other options and don't mind sacrificing quality and integrity."

What don't you like about working at AAR Corporation?

"Revolving door of contractors. Unable to keep quality staff. In the rush to bring in 'good' people, they are just bringing in....people. Culture of someone new will be better rather than let the people who we have who are good DO their jobs."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Organization. If I were Airbus, I would be VERY unhappy."

What do you like about working at AAR Corporation?

"I like coming up with ways to be more efficient and organized. I also like not being confined to a desk all day. The work schedule and company benefits are quite good. And lastly, I enjoy being the best at my job that I can possibly be, which at times includes being the most knowledgeable about certain things."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are interviewing for an hourly position, rather than an office or salaried position, go in knowing that you will likely be working for a paycheck, minus any acknowledgement of your work ethic, and chances for growth and advancement are next to none for someone who has great hopes of furthering themselves or wants to be recognized as having some intelligence or potential."

What don't you like about working at AAR Corporation?

"I am not sure whether this is the company's culture or just the attitude of some of the supervisers, but adopting an open mind doesn't seem to be their strong suit. Employees really don't feel free to give honest feedback on how things are done and the employees who are sought out for their input almost always only have their own best interests at heart, and not the company's."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would definitely be more selective about putting the right person in the right job, according to their abilities. I would also pay more attention to workplace morale and to the people who always give 100% of themselves, who want to grow, and truly care about where the company is headed."

What do you like about working at AAR Corporation?

"Good company benefits. Great work schedule for assembly workers. Provides some good work experience if one has never worked in this industry before."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you should decide to interview with this company, do so knowing that disorganization, frustration, and clueless management (or not) come with the package."

What don't you like about working at AAR Corporation?

"As one person put it in a previous post , if you're looking for someone to acknowledge your work ethic, especially if you're an hourly employee-forget it. And as far as making the most of employee's potential-well, intelligence and things like individual integrity don't rank too high on their list when it comes to who they give meaningful raises or promotions to."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"First, I would be more involved with what is really going on out on the floor with production staff, instead of relying on what I'm being told by supervisors and their bosses. There are a lot of unethical scenarios going on that a lot of us feel are impeding the work process and Cargo's success as a whole-mainly in terms of employee morale and blatant favoritism toward employees who are not only not deserving of their post, but who spend most of the day either in the smoking area, walking around socializing, or just plain malingering. And that's not even including things that I can't put into print here."

"Whoever quoted the rate of pay for inventory clerks at AAR as being $14.00 an hour wasn't speaking for everybody who does that job. I only get around $11.25 an hour, so this is definitely a misrepresentation of what people who work in that department actually get."
