"My first week at this company was doing underground plumbing. Did very well, and worked very hard. A long-tenured employee was to report on my performance and abilities to the ownership. This individual was very limited in knowledge of the trade, but acted like he knew everything. Arrogant and ignorant are good words to describe the whole leadership. I was unexpectedly fired after several weeks because I was told they didn't like my race."
