TheZenith Employee

"The IT department is full of people that have been at the company for years. They do not have a working understanding of how to leverage advanced technologies and are stagnant in their approach to modernizing their outdated platforms. Senior and Executive management are not very pleasant. There is no morale, and team building is non existent."

"Because of the lay offs people were stresed out."

What do you like about working at TheZenith?

"I liked what the company stands for, and what the company does for her employees to keep them healthy and up to date with their skills."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Ask what happened to the previous person in that position, and to the pre-previous. If there is not a straight answer, or u have doubts about the answers, don't accept the job. I did accept the job even if the answers were big, big red flags, and I had to suffer because of it! Be Honest, and ask questions that will help you find out what is going on in that company and in that department. It is very, very important! You have to work in a healthy psychological and emotional environment. Because the work environment will affect your personal life!"

What don't you like about working at TheZenith?

"Lower management and company environment is very negative. Upper management has no clue what is going on!!!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"More control over middle and lower management. Discourage nepotism, and favoritism."

Medical Management Nurse

"The company has the best benefits around-but the environment has gotten so bad that even the best benefits aren't worth working there."

What do you like about working at TheZenith?

"They have an excellent benefit package. Not only did they give you the day off for all recognized holidays, they also let you leave early the day before. I started there with 3 weeks of vacation. There was not a limit to the number of sick days and they were separate from vacation time. Very concerned about employees health and keeping people well. Cafeteria food very health oriented. Probably the best cafeteria food I've ever had. There was a gym onsite that was available to all employees. Employees given all equipment needed to do job well and easier. Example: Each employee had two monitor screens to make accessing information easier. Each employee had their own printer at their desk."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"This applies to nurses only. If you have years of experience in case management and workers compensation, have certification in case management and want to put your job ahead of the rest of your life, just convey this to the person interviewing you and you should have no problem getting a job."

What don't you like about working at TheZenith?

"They frequently changed how things were done and went through several managers in the 3 years I was there. I was initially hired for utilization review, which I was well qualified for. After a year, the unit closed and some of the staff was laid off and the rest of us went into case management. I had no prior experience in case management and was still fairly new to work comp. I was immediately assigned a full case load but given no instruction as to what to do. I would bring this up to each new manager-how I felt I was not doing my job right, that I didn't know where to find a lot of the information I needed and frequently didn't know what was being discussed because I had never been given the basic information. When our new director was hired in March, just about the way everything was done was changed. We all met individually with her and one of the things she asked me was if I felt I was a good fit for the job. It was downhill after that. First I was put on a performance improvement plan and given a month to do things right, as she felt I had been doing everything wrong. She gave me a website to go to where I could sign up for a class in case management and had someone sit with me for two hours to give me tips and ideas to do my job correctly. I met with her weekly to go over my improvements, and she never had anything positive to say. I was really trying my best to write up a report the way she wanted it done and felt good about what I was doing. She would only point out what I didn't do right. One time she criticized me because when I put down a goal date for an employee to return to work I only put the month and day. There were even a few occasions that things that were on my written evaluation were not true-she had not seen what she claimed I didn't do.I could not do anything right by her and I knew my time there was coming to an end. I spoke with my manager (not the director) about a week before the end of my improvement period and she indirectly told me that I was going to be fired the next Thursday. When I came to work on Monday I had so much difficulty concentrating knowing my days were numbered. I went to human resources towards the end of the day and asked them that if they were going to fire me to just do it instead of keep me until Thursday just to make sure I couldn't come back later and say I had been fired unfairly. They let me go the next day. I have never been fired from a job. I have never not excelled at my job, and I was put into a position that I was not qualified for and was not given the training to succeed. I was treated in such a way that I felt stupid and lazy and my self confidence suffered greatly. Their mistake was not letting me go when the unit I was hired for was closed. I would have left with my dignity and severance pay. Instead, because of their decision, I ended up fired for poor performance and not doing my job. While the company excels in things like benefits, they are not good at all in running the company. Things and people are changed constantly and never stick with any plan. One day they will have you do something one way, and six months later you will be doing it the opposite way. When I left, the morale wasn't very good. Some staff members were looking for new jobs. During the first year I was at Zenith, I was very happy with my job, but by the time I left I was happy that I was leaving."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"It's hard to say because it is always changing. I think this new director is exactly what the CEO is looking for and may end up cutting costs and saving money, but at the expense of having unhappy employees and losing staff. The current director is good for business but bad with people."

Medical Management Nurse

"It isn't as nice as it used to be. They used to be much better with their employees."

What do you like about working at TheZenith?

"Their focus on learning and education reimbursement."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"This might not be the best time to apply for a job there."

What don't you like about working at TheZenith?

"They do not treat employees as well as they used to."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Focus on employees positive qualities, not always the negative."
