"I was paid very poorly, had no benefits, no real chance of advancement, was stigmatized for being arty and girly (), and endured some sexual harassment -- but was expected to express constant, boundless enthusiasm despite all of this."

"Try to be more concerned about being a better educational institution and more equitable workplace, rather than allocating millions of dollars to build flashy touristy nonsense."

"mission is committed to helping others, great co-workers, diverse environment, very unique service provided"

"Be aware of the challenge before you commit. make sure you are motivated by the mission and will enjoy the work environment and culture because working as a volunteer can become taxing."
What don't you like about working at AmeriCorps?
"work can be monotonous, I don't like supervising volunteers because they aren't bound to the company and are therefore tenuous, I am looking at a computer for 95% of my time there"

"Communicate my needs more frequently and more directly with the remaining staff. clarify my role and how it influences the organization and be clear about what I need from them on a regular basis"

"I love the volunteers I work with and wish the administration would realize their value."

"Interviews are easy and they don't do background checks like they should."

"The cut throat environment is tough to deal with as a new person. Everyone is always trying to impress the CEO and stand out to get ahead."

"You need a new CEO to get this business on tract."

"Career options are limited to Jacksonville, Florida, I need to move around."

"I would increase interaction among staff, a lot of decisions are made at the top without involving those at the bottom."

"I do not like culture of who's in the club and who's out."

"Listen to program directors. Run the building like a community center instead of a church."

What do you like about working at Buckner International?
"I no longer work there, but I really enjoyed meeting new people. I also enjoyed knowing I was doing something that made a difference in the lives of others. And I really enjoyed working with my team. I also enjoyed being in a leadership position."
What don't you like about working at Buckner International?
"I didn't like that my compensation was based on my lack of connections and a degree, not my ability and accomplishments."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Think outside the box when it comes to considering a person's worth to the company. Instead of focusing on education, which may or may not be relevant to the position, determine value by measurable means such as on the job performance and achievements."

"I don't have much to complain about except there wasn't enough hours in the day to help those in need"

"I was a volunteer for Senior Citizens and I enjoyed helping them."
