Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I was offered $50, 000 of the bat for a project manager position. DO NOT TAKE it because they will have you on the road non stop.compensation is not worth the travel."

"Travel- when I interviewed I was told I would be traveling 25% of the time. In reality as soon as I started working I was traveling by car new Orleans, Shreveport, baton rouge, Dallas, Lubbock, San Antonio. You name it I was there. Compensation was inadequate. I was given and $82 stipend for hotel room and three meals... Tell me what decent place you can get for 82 dollars plus meals!!! come on... I was the only Hispanic person working there so I felt some of the jokes they would tell were inappropriate. I was always hesitant to bring it up to HR since I did not want to be called a sissy at work. It was already hard enough being the youngest one there by at least 10 years. The place is not conducive to career growth."

"Operations and sales management tends to have a different outlook on improving sales during poor economic times. Having differing opinions within an organization should not be considered a liability, but an asset. Looking for individuals that agree with every aspect of a business plan, will ultimately lead to failure, if there is no one to sound the alarm of pending problems."

"There were alot a really good competent people that took great pride in their jobs and did them well."

"You have no idea how big the machine is. $50 billion a year annually, it is very structured and not the place for people who think outside the box."

"Many times they didnt see the big picture. When I started it was owned by two local business men. Veolia bought it and started changing everything some good processes where implemented and some bad."

"If its not broken don't fix it."

"Equipment in bad conditions they dont pay enough"

"Cut some of the extra peoples in the office and does pay check put it in to equiment maintance and better personal protective equipment for their employees"

"I enjoyed the flexibility of creating my own schedule and I enjoyed my co-workers."

"Make sure you ask as many questions as you can, because key information that was omitted from the interview process became very apparent to me within a short time of working there. Information that would have been useful to know before deciding to change jobs."

"The compensation plan was a nightmare and I always felt that Operations was working against Sales instead of together as a team."

"I would suggest that the management team prioritize what is really important to them and stick to that plan, because the agenda changed far too frequently."

"streamline the business processes to fit a working temeplate for sucess"

"Learning about the solid waste industry and educating the public about the necessity of this business."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Know that although solid waste is a necessary part of our lives, you may alientate people you know when they find out who/where you work for. This landfill was a highly contested site and the company did not necessarily make a lot of friend in the community with past litigation."

"Being laid off, I was assured when I took this job that this industry was recession proof and layoffs never happened."
