"I would concentrate more resources in science and engineering developing."

What do you like about working at University of Texas at El Paso?
"I liked being able to focus on my work. I had a great deal of freedom to design my equipment and experiments. It was also very fun to see the lab transform from a room full of broken junk into a NASA research center."
What don't you like about working at University of Texas at El Paso?
"Low pay. Hourly, it's not bad, but keep in mind that students had to pay at least the cost of tuition for doing thesis research. Taking that into account, the effective hourly rate is just a bit below minimum wage."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"We have some very advanced equipment in the lab, but basic things (like hammers, wrenches, etc) can be hard to find when you need them."
