"Low pay. Hourly, it's not bad, but keep in mind that students had to pay at least the cost of tuition for doing thesis research. Taking that into account, the effective hourly rate is just a bit below minimum wage."

"We have some very advanced equipment in the lab, but basic things (like hammers, wrenches, etc) can be hard to find when you need them."
