University of South Florida was established in 1956. Located in Tampa, Florida, USF is a member of the State University System of Florida. Accreditation is awarded by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The school has 13 colleges and offers many undergraduate and graduate degrees in subject areas such as arts and sciences, business, education, marine science, and nursing. USF has a student body of over 47,000 students.

University of South Florida consists of four separate campuses. USF Polytechnic offers 2,000 students both graduate and undergraduate degree programs. It also serves as a base for individual course, web-based courses, and certification programs. USF Sarasota-Manatee offers 40 degree programs, and students have the opportunity to attend night and weekend classes. The St. Petersburg campus is the only accredited university in the area, and it enrolls over 6,000 students each semester.
