"Toxic and Degrading"

What do you like about working at Acquity Group?

"Sometimes they have interesting projects, because good companies get sold on the company without realizing the 'real' company they are hiring. I have met some nice people here, but they usually quit fairly quickly if they are able to."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Do not believe anything they try to sell you about the company culture. Everything they say about a happy productive company culture is false. They expect you to work over 50 hours a week and I quote, Do not encourage resources to self-determine what to do when they have extra time available."

What don't you like about working at Acquity Group?

"The company is run by very dysfunctional people with no 'people skills' and that have absolutely no interest in their employees or job satisfaction. That would not be so unusual, except that management actually goes out of its way not to commend employees, but to degrade them in public and in private."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Send every single manager in your company to leadership training. Then send the CEO!"

User Experience Architect at Acquity Group
in Los Angeles, CA

What do you like about working at Acquity Group?

"The Chicago office headquarters seem to have more commaraderie and team spirit. The people seemed very nice and the senior management seems to be much more active and accessible there."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are creatively inclined you will not be happy here. But if you just want a decent gig with a nice company that pays well, and you don't really give a sh*t about who you work with, you will fit right in."

What don't you like about working at Acquity Group?

"Complete lack of commaraderie. Total lack of interest in fellow employees. No team spirit or cohesion. No team leadership from those supposedly in charge."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Reconsider your upper mgmt. of the West Coast. You have lost your best people from the L.A. office (and probably from Irvine as well). But you probably don't recognize this as you have other decent employees who have stayed on. However, they are not your highest achievers or the people that could have really made the L.A. office something special. They are gone and I see frustration in the eyes and words of the interesting employees that have remained or the smarter new hires."

User Experience Architect at Electronic Data Systems
in Colorado Springs, CO

Please give us a one liner to describe this review.

"As a consulting company, your experience at EDS will be totally dependent on who your manager is and which clients you work with."

What do you like about working at Electronic Data Systems?

"I personally had great management that supported me in my career decisions."

What don't you like about working at Electronic Data Systems?

"The company no longer seems to put any value (read: budget) into training their employees. It's difficult to grow in your career if you can't do it on your own time and dime. Senior management also has very little understanding of the value of usability as a practice (my field), which led to few opportunities for me."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Usability is good business! Learn it, sell it!"

User Experience Architect at Cisco Systems
in San Jose, CA

What do you like about working at Cisco Systems?

"Be knowledgeable of the technical aspect of the open position."

What don't you like about working at Cisco Systems?

"I disliked the difficulty getting around the campus."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They should work on making sure the subordinates understand their goals for the year, and help them work towards achieving that."

"Questionable business practices."

What do you like about working at Ramp Group?

"Some coworkers were really talented. Unfortunately, this didn't extend to the executive management team."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

What don't you like about working at Ramp Group?
