"Slow to innovate. I came in with advanced degrees but was hired low. Expecting to advance with hard work and new ideas, I got nowhere. Nepotism is rampant, due to the remoteness of the base. The joke phrase, unauthorized productivity, is very accurate. Base facilities are minimal, e.g., I thought a Navy base would encourage swimming, but the pool hours kept shrinking, and the staff was obnoxious. Rather go to a facility or company that encourages innovation and collaboration."

"I have proudly served my country and experienced a lot of different things while I was on Active Duty. The people I learned from as well as taught made me who I am today. One thing that I would tell someone interested in joining is that there are a lot of policies that have to be followed so do not expect to work with latest software updates."
