4.1The Department of Treasury is a good government agency with highly motivated intellectuals running the tax and legal framework of the country. I worked here for over 16 years and things are getting complicated due to the changes in the tax laws. However, the Treasury is planning to improve the technology that is key to serving the taxpayer in the near future. It is on its way to spending billions of dollars to improve the services offered to the business taxpayers. This is a positive aspect that should occur as soon as possible.

Stop micro-managing and allow the employees to conduct their work to their best potential. Stop trying to monitor every second of a work day. No two cases are the same. Assembly line methods are not feasible in this line of work.
5I’ve worked for the Internal Revenue Service as an (i) estate tax lawyer; (ii) lead attorney & litigation specialist and (iii) senior estate tax attorney since 9/2000. I was and am involved in the examination of the most complex cases. I have represented the IRS in Tax Court. I’ve trained several estate tax attorneys. I have done presentations at CLE for government lawyers. I have written articles that have been published. I love being a tax lawyer. However, I’ve reached a stage in my career where I think my skills would be most useful working in the private sector.
Thank you.
