"The people have been wonderful through such hard times. That's the main reason for staying."

What do you like about working at Tandem Computers?
"At the time it was the largest company that I'd ever worked for, there were a lot of tasks happening and good things to learn."
What don't you like about working at Tandem Computers?
"This was a contract position, I enjoyed the working environment quite a bit but I think I would have liked it better if I were a direct employee with better prospects for career growth at the company."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I can't really make any suggestions, this position was one that I had in the mid 1990's before Tandem was purchased by HP. At the time it would have been to rotate help desk admins out into other projects with greater regularity."

"Three Month Contract working with super computers."
What do you like about working at NASA?
"The atmosphere was very relaxed. While there were serious sciences happening all the time things were kept pretty light."
What don't you like about working at NASA?
"It's hard to say, I was only there on three month contract."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Really have no suggestions, I was there for a couple of clearly defined tasks which I completed and then moved on. I did not have a lot of exposure to NASA's direct management."

"It was an excellent company that took great care of its employees."

"Yes, be the best you can be from a technical standpoint as they hire only the best in the industry from what I have seen."

"Nothing, it was positive"

"Nothing, they're doing a great job with building their business up."

"have a more relaxed environment"

"Casual work atmosphere."
What don't you like about working at Washington State University?
"Lack of career potential. People work here for 30 years then retire. Very little turn over, very stagnant. In the research area of the University, you often work with researchers who have little to no management experience. The research area of the university pays well, however, very little job security. Great for getting experience and starting out in your career though."

"Management training for PhDs"
