"Get your duties entirely in writing. Watch your back."

What don't you like about working at University of Washington?

"The problem is that the UW Athletics Department is a boys club. It is very hard to crack that entrenched network. New ideas and innovation are not welcome. As a professional mentor and leader, I felt time and time again that I was set up to fail due to current legal problems that distracted the current head facilities manager."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Treat your lower ranked employees better. Listen to their ideas before the organization fails to act on them. Get a professional who knows how to encourage and build stewardship. Listen to employees when they come to management with complaints. I left due to inaction at the very top. Something is wrong with the entrenched business model."
