"As a graduate student research assistant, your job is to test and execute any ideas a professor has for a particular research topic. Whenever you are able to add some insight you are expected to do so. The job is part-time but will cover all tuition costs so it is well worth it."

"I meet some great people. The acuity at the hospital is second to none."

"Avoid U of M if possible."

What don't you like about working at University of Michigan?

"My department was as political as it could get. The supervisor showed an unbelievable amount of preference to some employees and threatened other employees with termination should they not do what was asked. It was a very lopsided experience. The supervision in my department is by far the worst I've ever seen."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Overhaul the department and get rid of the supervisor. She has no idea what she is doing or how to manage people."

"I worked in the library in the dorm that I lived in at the time. I loved being the expert on retrieving information that students needed."

"I was unable to get more hours, however I was taking classes full time too."

"No changes, the environment was wonderful."

"No accountability for a lot of the staff. A lot of management and staff continue to work because someone likes them and not because of performance."

"Make sure your high level managers have the proper educations and experience. Don't promote someone because of who they know and if they don't measure up to the position move them, don't just use them as pawns or yes people."

"Very high job turnover rate in home healthcare. Everyone I knew who left to another department were glad they did."

"Just from the Home Healthcare perspective. Management is out of touch with employee concerns. People being treated unequally. Harrassment and Discrimination are evident."

"Part of the problem is the management. In all my professional career, I have never worked for a more crooked and corrupt business. Perhaps with new management that can weed out the bad apples in supervisory positions, I'd go back."
