What do you like about working at University of Central Florida?

"The students, some of them, are great. Some of the faculty are good but the spirit of collaboration is dampened. Most faculty are miserable."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Notice how the dean will be all smiles and sweet. She will withhold information and can make snap hostile decisions. She is not leading the college forward."

What don't you like about working at University of Central Florida?

"The dean has no vision other than posturing and image. Very superficial, very mean, very bipolar. The technology is good but there is nothing else about the place that is current, up-to-date or forward-thinking."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Dean really should retire and let others move the college forward. You were lucky to be dean- right place at right time-but you do not have the skills for the job. Backstabbing will not help you."

Program Assistant

"I love working with the people and businesses of the SBDC and BIP."

What do you like about working at University of Central Florida?

"The people are easily the best part about working here."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I love this company. Each manager is different, but working to the companies and individual departments goals is priority. Showing excitement about your program is a must. There is a lot to do for a college, and one must put aside bureaucracy to better the student and business experience and enjoy their own job. My greatest suggestion, as always, do research on the job you seek before you apply. Make sure it fits you so you do not waste your time or the hiring manager's time."

What don't you like about working at University of Central Florida?

"The opportunity for advancement is stifled and there are few ways to advance in this particular job without getting another business specific bachelors or masters degree, or have 3-5 years business experience."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There is not much to suggest. The experience is a joy to be around people who are in the world ready to help businesses. The opportunity I have to work in a higher position is stifled by the limited resources of being the outermost center and limitations in attending classes at the home office."

What don't you like about working at University of Central Florida?

"There is no chance for advancement within the facilities planning department."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"More open communication with all staff members; taking experience into consideration in lieu of a irrelevent degree."
