Working at University of Kansas in Wichita, KS: 1 Employee Reviews

Student Assistant

"Good entry level experience-not a keeper"

What do you like about working at University of Kansas?

"I enjoyed the people I worked with; most of them were great team players, very supportive, helpful, and loved their work."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It is a good entry level job if you have little experience, and other companies are impressed seeing it on a resume. Go to their website and read up on the job you are applying for. Their job descriptions are wordy and complex, but the job is usually not that complicated. If you have good MS Office skills, most of the jobs can be accomplished using them. They also provide training on the job for different skills needed."

What don't you like about working at University of Kansas?

"The pay scale is very low, even for the professional personnel on the payroll. There are little or no career advancement possibilities. There did not seem to be any respect for those without PhD or MD level education. Skills and ability to do the job were not valued as much as the initials behind the names."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Quit glorifying each others' PhD/MD behinds, and utilize the resources and skills of ALL the talented people you have to save your school."
