What do you like about working at United Natural Foods?

"The knowing the companies possibilities of growth potential, and what the future of IT could be."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"UNFI has great growth potential. The money was good. I would have liked to have seen some exposure to the IT departments Bigger Plan. Much of it was secretive. My view is that if you have to hide it, its wrong. If you want employees to be fully engaged, one needs to make them feel that they are part of the plan. My over all thoughts of UNFI were positive, as I was initially able to use my skills without boundaries to meet objectives. Management changes are often good, but should not be self serving. They should be for the benefit of the companys goals and assist on employee growth. These two together as a balance, will drive strength and pride in meeting objectives."

What don't you like about working at United Natural Foods?

"UNFI IT was in the process of restructuring. Change is often good, but needs to engage employees as resources toward that change. There were limitations. 1/2 Of my responsibilities (Problem Management), I was informed to HOLD, and not move forward until instructed. I was later informed that my position was illuminated. There was little account within the restructuring for what happens to the employee. Is there consideration to ensure that the employee is included into the companys new model. Many of the new VPs / Directors brought in staff from their previous positions as to who had for them."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Have the IT End-to-End processes as an over all Business Strategy match fthe objectives of the business it self as partners. This includes agree upon SLAs with the business, to ensure that all IT department processes matched the goal and objectives of the company."
