"Supervisors/managers don't seem to care if you mess around on your phone for hours at a time or stand around talking about sports, so employees aren't particularly motivated to perform well. And those employees that are motivated aren't recognized or rewarded for going above and beyond. There are no set trainers or training schedule. There's no mentoring or investment in employees by sending them to conferences or even letting them watch webinars. Performance evaluations for the previous year are 5-8 months late, and may or may not be done by someone who knew you or was actually your supervisor during that time. HR believes in rehabilitating workplace bullies and harassers rather than firing them, so you may have to continue working with people you've reported. The company restructures every few months, so if you ever need to figure out who your boss' boss is, good luck. There's no celebrating of birthdays or anniversaries, though there are two outings each year: a summer outing, which never seems to happen during the summer, and a holiday party, which is usually after Christmas. On the plus side, your schedule is flexible, so if you need to leave early one day, you can just work a little later the next day. You'll get an annual "raise" independent of your performance that doesn't quite cover the yearly increase in the cost of living, but hey, it's something. Your insurance coverage and 401k matching is excellent, however. If it wasn't for that, I would have left long ago."
