"This was a great place to work. When I was approached by Johnson Controls, it was all about what the commission structure and a huge increase in my base salary as well as having control of a larger territory. I feel leaving Brady was probably the worst mistake I ever made professionally."

What do you like about working at Trane?

"I liked the sales team and our Regional Sales Manager. He was the first person to give me the chance to step outside my comfort zone of Inside Sales and move in to an Outside Sales position. I turned out to be a very good move for me. I love a challenge and I'm very competitive so it was a win/win for me and for Brady."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be enthusiastic and be prepared to know about Brady's culture and mission. Do some research on their website and you'll be fine."

What don't you like about working at Trane?

"I had a back injury at the time (recently had surgery and had my problem resolved) and sometimes, the long hours on rooftops and in my car would be a challenge."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Listen to everyone on the sales team, whether they've been there for 1 year or 13 years, everyone has valuable information to share to help the company grow."

"Watch out for how they interview you and what they actually have to offer you. Let them know that you want this position to keep it and learn more about it because they will not give you a second chance to learn."

"No communication to the employees as to what is happening, no chances to make things right or to get more education about the job or position you have."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Communicate with the employees better, offer to get more education or help in the positions you hold within the company. I would have stayed if I had more communications with management and the people around me that I worked with."

"What I liked most about working for American Standard was the team based production line. You really got to know your co-workers and in some instances helped one another get through hard points of the job."

"There was not much I disliked. I am not a complainer, I feel rather then worry about what is wrong it is quicker to just do the work and get the job done right then to worry about anything else."
