Training Store Manager at Wendy's

"I love being challenged and challenging my own team to do the best they can. In this business you are surprised at times with inspections and mystery shoppers and when you find out that you did well or made the customer happy, it's super gratifying. As much as I enjoy the people I train sometimes I'm overwhelmed with trainees to the point of my own decreased performance on the store level. The company is always trying to find its next best manager and sometimes at any cost."

"Bringing Back Blissfull Memories"

What do you like about working at Food Services of America?

"I like the fact that when a customer walks through the door he/she immediately can see a reflection of all the hard work the team has done. I get a lot of satisfaction of food presentation and the reaction of the customer when they see it. I find controlling labor and food costs exciting. It is my passion to make goals and to reach them."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Know exactly what food costs and labor costs mean. Realize that everything shows up on the bottom line. Be professional and only apply for management if you have experience. Realize that this type of management is a fully hands on job."

What don't you like about working at Food Services of America?

"I do not have many bad experiences. I think the only negative thing that I can say is if a company is in the process of downsizing and only allots so many hours to where you are running on a skeleton screw that during the busy times it is hard to be one on one with the customer. I understand why it is necessary and I understand that sometimes, one store may have to make up for another stores figures."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Take your job very serious, it is a reflection of yourself. Work as a team and delegate wisely. Find the strengths of your team and utilize them. If you see weaknesses, help set up personal goals to ensure that the team continues to work productively."
