What do you like about working at TJX Companies?

"I loved working at Homegoods because it was a physical job that kept me in good shape, but it was so much more than that. The employees are given the opportunity to show their abilities in many ways. Whether it is customer service, building and loading furniture, planning floor sets or merchandising- associates are recognized by customers, co-workers and management for a job well done."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Every GREAT associate with Homegoods is someone who enjoys hard work and has a sense of urgency and pride in their position"

What don't you like about working at TJX Companies?

"The work is pretty demanding for nearly minimum wage to start. I think more employee appreciation would go a long way. If management was given a larger budget to reward the associates more frequently for working extra hard to move merchandise to the floor after a large truck so you aren't backed up the next day when the new shipment comes. Appreciation goes a long way and boosts morale."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I had wonderful managers because they worked with the associates off-loading trucks, building furniture, taking out trash, emptying tanks- they never asked associates to do anything they didn't do themselves. They earned a lot of respect and the associates worked harder because of it. Also: If management was given a larger budget to reward the associates more frequently for working extra hard to move merchandise to the floor after a large truck so you aren't backed up the next day when the new shipment comes. Appreciation goes a long way and boosts morale."
