Working at Tilden-Coil Constructors in Riverside, CA: 3 Employee Reviews

Tilden-Coil Constructors Employee

"Company used to be a strong family oriented place to work. Top management has shifted focus to profit, by any means necessary. People are treated like money producing assets, and expected to work many hours, while ethics and integrity are very low."

Staff

What do you like about working at Tilden-Coil Constructors?

"When I worked there, it was very professional, no-nonsense, and the honchos were extremely able, competent, and gentlemen."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are not prepared to put in 6 days and at least 60 hours a week. . . . then stay away. They truly frown upon people taking time off or vacation. It also helps to be young. If you are more seasoned and you periodically make a mistake, you'll be tagged an old, deadwood, malingerer."

What don't you like about working at Tilden-Coil Constructors?

"The hours. Top management expected huge hours from the staff with absolutely no regard for one's life away from the company. They said they care about balance, but that was a bunch of baloney. They are going to ride you until you burn out, drop dead, or leave. This company also practices AGE DISCRIMINATION openly. The worst thing that can happen to an employee is to turn 40. One of the key people used to openly comment about 40-ish people becoming useless and deadwood. In 2006 and 2007 they canned about 12 staffers over 40. Their age range was not a coincidence."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get a life away from the company. Maybe by doing so they will appeciate the need for their staff to live a true balanced existence. And do not start stigmatizing and looking down on staff because of their age."
