What do you like about working at Tiger Woods Foundation?

"My supervisors were open-minded. They allowed me to come up with my own ideas and run with it. I work best when I am given the freedom to think for myself."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would strongly urge them to be ambitious and to not be afraid to ask for more relevant work related to their field. There's no point in working at a big company if you don't learn anything. Oftentimes, managers are too busy to think about what assignments they should give you, so you have to do it yourself. All you have to do is ask and show that you're interested in learning and getting the most out of your internship. Normally, managers will be happy to listen."

What don't you like about working at Tiger Woods Foundation?

"Unfortunately, there was little opportunity to grow and move up at TWF. They never had any intention to add to their permanent staff. It was not good news for me, especially since I worked so hard and contributed so much to the company."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would suggest providing interns with more opportunities to learn and grow. I was one of the lucky ones who didn't spend all my time just answering phone calls and opening up the front door. But that's only because I took the initiative to ask for more relevant work. Some of the other interns were not so fortunate. I believe an internship should be about personal and professional growth. A person can only learn so much making copies, getting coffee and transferring phone calls."
