"Having been at ThyssenKrupp Materials for many years I really loved the people. I managed four wonderful people and enjoyed being able to manage in my own style which proved to be very effective."

"Probably the one down point would be that there was very little room for advancement. I was lucky in that I really enjoyed what I did and continued to take on extra work and projects but there was not much advancement from within the company."

"I would suggest that when they are looking to fill new positions that they look at the current employees first."

"I love the company because they gave me my start at production planning and scheduling"

"The process of getting materials out to production was too slow but with the help of myself and others we fixed that issue and put it into process."

"Please come back to California."

"Once I'd learned everything there was to learn about my position, there was no way to grow upon that, at least at the office I was in."

"None that I can think of!"

"ThyssenKrupp Steel is a Great Company in Germany, however current Sr. Management has never worked in a Steel Mill and are clueless to the potentials for a fatality"

"It was a Greenfield site and I had the opportunity to develop the Safety Concept and EHS written and training programs for the site."

"Great Company if it can get started up and implement change with its Sr. Management Team."

"Sr. Management trying to run a steel mill like an Automotive Factory and their thought process will fail. They were hiring their ex former employees who had never been in a steel mill as Sr. Management."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Re-group and quit building your kingdom that closed so many US Steel mills in the 1970's."

"It was a good place to work. Their compensation pachage isn't the best"

"It was challenging and received alot of useful technical training."

"They could not seem to find programs profitable for any reason. They didn't seem to have the ability to fix manufacturing defects (common cause variance)."

"I like the challenges of project management and the ability to design, detail, coordinate fabrication and installation. You own the entire package."

"Worked too many weekends and holidays. Holidays are when all of the major projects are installed and Maintenance and Engineering are required to be there."

"Management needs to be more accountable for the decisions that they make. They also need to communicate with middle management better. Projects are more than just a budget - they affect peoples lives every day"
