"An excellent introduction to sales"

What do you like about working at Texas Rangers?

"I had always dreamed of working in baseball, and the opportunity arose and I took it. Discussing baseball on a daily basis with customers and co-workers was a lot of fun."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"You will work long hours for not a lot of pay. If you are looking to develop professionally, then this is an excellent place to start. You will be thrown to the wolves with not a lot of training, and it allows you to develop your own pitch."

What don't you like about working at Texas Rangers?

"The compensation was horrendous. The base I was promoted to was 19,500, and the commission was not enough to live on. It was excellent for a person just coming out of college, but as you develop, you become more valuable than what they pay. In addition, the management that I worked for before the recent ownership change was not the most moral of people. It was uncomfortable to see people flaunt things I considered inappropriate and having to work under people I did not personally respect."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They have cleaned house since I was there, but I would have recommended changing those in management as it is difficult to work for people who show off pictures of their mistresses."

"Working for a Major League Baseball team was my dream job, I have however realized there are bigger and better things out there for me."

What do you like about working at Texas Rangers?

"The people, the perks, the challenges. Going to a Major League Baseball field as a place of employment is pretty amazing."

What don't you like about working at Texas Rangers?

"The fact that there really isn't much movement or very many opportunities for advancement. I also feel because of who they are they can pay less."
