3.4I've worked for TDCJ Parole as a state parole officer for a little over 5 years and it has been a wonderful learning experience! It's an extremely fast paced working environment and there is little room for error. They are fast about sending us to specialized schools to gain knowledge in every type of specialized caseload. The downfall is, there is no financial gain in becoming a specialized officer and there's a lot of room for volunteering. Parole certainly prepares you for any position!

4.9I have worked for the State of Texas for 23 years. The job requirements were to perform advanced managerial work in a correctional facility. Work involves administering policies and procedures to include custody, discipline, and welfare of inmates in the assigned facility; and planning, assigning, and supervising the work of others. I worked under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement in maintaining governance, risk management, and compliance.
