Working at TeamHealth in Alcoa, TN: 2 Employee Reviews

TeamHealth Employee

"I was fired at the end of FMLA. Technically, I've never been given the okay from a physician to go back to work and it's been more than two months. I should have at least had the opportunity to state that I was disabled from the illness for which I was on leave from. That way, not only would I have not come back, but I would be using the benefits I PAID for. I stuck in with the job even when I was struggling. They planned to fire me when I was in a coma and my mother family was praying for a miracle/a liver. I have no memory of my last month of work. I have trouble spelling, which most of management always had anyway. I was a professional writer once. I've lost cognitive ability. I can't even get disability now. I was thrown away like trash. I now believe if I'd died, they would have denied my daughter my life insurance. It's so disgusting the company they have become."

"I worked for TeamHealth twice. I absolutely adored everyone I worked with. I struggled with my health these last couple years and some of my issues weren’t discovered. When my QA got bad after I returned from FMLA a year ago, I was put in a more difficult team and not trained the same as another team member. I worked through illness. I called in twice in 7 years. I nearly died and was called the day my FMLA ended this year and fired for job performance. It turns out I’ve been struggling with low blood sugar and the month before I went into organ failure m, my brain was hampered, which is what my termination was based on. Nobody even bothered to send a card when they send cards when someone’s dog dies. Really? Organ failure means nothing."
