"I'm working as a principal software engineer at TDSTelecom. The company values its employees very much, it understands that life happens for every one. The vacation and benefits are just sufficient."
"I'm a fairly recent hire to the TDS team, and I've enjoyed my time there so far. Depending on your team, you either have plentiful work or not as much work, so if you are looking to keep busy at all times in your job, be cautious of the team you are joining. Overall, the company has nice benefits and all the people are great, as well as the upper management; just don't be expecting a company with "young" culture."
"A fine job. Difficult due to the constant stress put on you by dealing with people's problems. The company itself does a lot of things to make analysts feel at ease and make them happy. The constant QA recordings are expected, but can sometimes be overbearing in terms of sticking to protocol."
"Would have stayed longer but moved away. Decent company, friendly work atmosphere, potential for growth."
"I worked for TDS telecom for 8 months, and it is clear to me that office culture was very unengaged between the co-workers. There was very little interaction between the employees beyond work related items, and it led to a very depressing environment of isolation. It was just an accepted part of working on the team to just work with little down time with people to just relax with one another."
"The environment is deteriorating due to incompetent management."
What do you like about working at TDS Telecom?
"This company pays well and the environment is typically low-stress."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Much of the time, the people doing the technical interviews are the least qualified, since the most qualified are busy with other things. They are asking questions from a sheet which they otherwise might not know the answer to. Don't be afraid to ask them technical questions as well. If you ask them questions they can't answer, they'll likely think you're really smart."
What don't you like about working at TDS Telecom?
"Management doesn't have a clue how to run an IT shop, and it's very obvious. The problem is that for every bad decision you manage to get corrected, they go and make two more. You get the feeling you're moving backwards. Things used to be a lot different."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Hire a CTO from outside the company who knows how to turn things around. Fire the current CIO."
