"I’ve worked for Sunglass Hut for 8 years and have truly enjoyed my time in this company. I have learned a lot about the company culture and the brands they own and have also developed greatly my people skills by learning to communicate with a variety of customer types."
"Very good company and people."
"Great company, learned a lot and met cool people!"
"It was a good experience working at sunglass hut, I lured customer service skills. I also enjoyed helping people find what they wanted and got to know the brands. Some of the brands I worked with Prada, Gucci, Ray-Ban, and Oakley just to name a few. Overall I enjoyed my experience at Sunglass Hut."
"The people who work within the corporate office are lost when it comes to running a company many of the policies are not relatable in the real world. The changing needs (coupons/ deals) of customers is not being met. There is a severe lack of proper training not just with employees but with upper management. Also specific needs to stores is not considered, open concept stores are not suitable to many locations, often loss prevention issues are not considered when it comes to store concepts. Also the human resources department is biased often ignoring the needs of the associates in favor of the wants of upper management."
"Used to be a good place to work. Not it's all politics."
What do you like about working at Sunglass Hut?
"It was fun to sell a product that made people feel good. The operations were very simple which gives you a lot more time to deal with the customers."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Get current associate reviews on the field leaders for your particular area. There are still some good people there, however, they are many passing the buck onto others in order to survive. Stay away from those people. They will make your job miserable."
What don't you like about working at Sunglass Hut?
"The back stabbing and politics got out of control. Too many people were focused on covering up their incompetence. The quality of life just went to hell because everybody was blaming everybody else for poor sales when the decline was due to the current market conditions."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Stop chasing good people away by allowing your field executives to place blame on their subordinates. Diversify your product line by bringing in some lower cost goods and enhance your sport and classic categories."
