Suffolk University Employee

"The biggest problem with Suffolk is the management (from the top on down). The president, who was installed by the board after aborting a legitimate search process, is simply a rubber-stamp for the trustees. Board members exercise the type of control over the day-to-day operations of the University that draw the attention of regulatory authorities. Faculty are dedicated and well motivated as a whole but administrators are more focused on their own interests than those of the professors, students (and the institution). A Me Too issue with a notorious department head was brought to the attention of the HR chief but completely ignored. The president, installed by the board after aborting their own search process, is only focused on keeping her job and takes her orders right from the trustees. Suffolk has been a troubled institution for decades and the only way it will ever improve is to start from scratch, beginning with a new board and president selected in a legitimate process. All of this instability makes it a poor choice as a workplace and as a school."
