Suffolk University Overview

Suffolk University is a private university whose main campus is located in Boston, Massachusetts. The school began operating in 1906 and was created by attorney Gleason Archer, Sr. and was originally a law school called “Archer's Evening Law School”. The university was initially aimed towards working people who wanted to study law. The university underwent an expansion in the 1930s and has become one of the largest law schools in the United States. Additional academic units were added to the university during the 30's, such as the Suffolk College of Arts and Sciences and the Sawyer Business School. Suffolk operates a main campus in Boston and satellite campuses found in Cape Cod and Madrid, Spain.

There are now around 9,500 total students enrolled at Suffolk. The university has gained prominence for the quality of business management programs offered at the Sawyer Business School, which offers various undergraduate and graduate programs. The full time global MBA program allows students to participate in a 3 month long internship outside the United States, with internships being available in 10 countries.
