"Dynamic environment that is sure to teach you a lot of new things StyleLabs is not your average company. If you are looking for a mundane 9-5 job, work elsewhere. But... if you are motivated to be part of a dynamic work environment that is always looking to innovate, work hard for its clients, and enter new territory then this job is for you. Working at style labs will challenge you in new ways. It's a small business with an entrepreneurial attitude that requires everyone to pitch in where required. This might mean putting in some extra time or wearing a hat that you don't normally wear. This can create an extremely exciting, positive, and creative environment if you approach it with the right attitude. Will you work hard, yes, will you be challenged, yes. But you will also learn a ton of life-long career skills. Management expects a lot but at the end of the day, all they really want are people who are willing to learn, willing to adapt, and willing to innovate with them as the company grows. I left StyleLabs because my role was on a temporary basis. Given the right opportunity, I would surely return."

"My experience with Stylelabs has been a mixed bag. The pay was acceptable, but management was the stuff of nightmares. In the few months, I've stayed with the company, at least four people quit or got fired. That's quite a turnover rate considering fewer than 12 people run daily operations. The president has a strong personality, to say the least. His "win at all costs" mentality permeates the entire company, from client interactions to the work culture. If you do not treat his company as your own baby and regularly go the extra mile, you will quickly lose value in his eyes. Once this happens, you will notice that he will use a less friendly tone with you. Your assignments may also dry up, and with that your pay as well. My advice to applicants: Go on their website, read their mission statement, and watch their recruiting videos. They are asking you to eat and breathe Stylelabs. If you cannot commit to that you will suffer working there --- even as you get paid industry average. Look elsewhere if you can. It IS possible to find a higher-paying writing job with a company that actually doesn't expect you to work more than 37.5 hours per week."

"As an experienced writer, I didn't know there was so much more to learn about writing for SEO and conversion. I came in experienced and went through a very steep learning curve. I found management and especially the President to be very patient but while still expecting a lot. Initially I was very intimidated and unsure if it would work for me considering the departure of the last content writer, however I am a stronger writer and a contributor to the organization now and the value it adds to their clients."

"I replaced the last content writer here and inherited an absolute mess. I had the opportunity to work personally with the VP to rectify each piece of writing. It was long and painful, but what I learned is that this company really cares about its clients and management/leadership is willing to roll up their sleeves to ensure objectives are met."

"New to the country, nobody was willing to hire me. The team at StyleLabs would deliberately find work to keep me employed because they knew I had to support and sponsor my child back home."

"Management is highly disorganized and very unprofessional. No training offered, even if it is necessary for performing your job. Employees are also then punished for not improving, but are overworked and not offered any support. Continued employment and promotion entirely determined by how much the President likes you, not on skill."
