"I worked with Stryker for 6 months, as a contractor for hire. Almost immediately, the lack of diversity became apparent. 97% of the full-timers were of the Hispanic, mostly Dominican, races. All of the middle management were Hispanic. I maybe met one white fellow who was full time, and no African Americans were to be found. I watched 3 batches of contract temps come thru and only one would be hired from each pool. Without a hitch, it was always a Dominican or Mexican who was hired on full time regardless of actual talent or experience. I seen very qualified people get overlooked in favor of 19 year old Hispanic females who mixed well with the biased culture. When my contract ended after 6 months I already knew my hard work and great attendance mattered not, and the next 18 y.o Spanish would be selected. Middle management would always interfere with processes, by testing out new setups and ideas. If a tech or hourly worker tried to provide input on how to better their work area, they would either be ignored or thrown under the bus for speaking up. I sensed upper management was pressuring middle management continuously and making everyone's life harder on the job, as a result. One fellow, and Indian man, spoke up about his quality of life becoming hard because of the constant interference and he was gone by the next day. Another man asked his manager if he ever hunted or enjoyed target shooting in his free time, and this simple question must have offended or raised an alarm with management and he was fired that day. Another fellow asked management why Stryker only broadcasted CNN network on every TV in every break room...fired. The culture at Mahwah Stryker is vicious and only caters to Hispanic employees. This simultaneous lack of diversity, and treating employees like brainless emotionless slaves who cannot speak up,resulted in one of the worst manufacturing job experiences of my life. Don't be tricked by the glossy appearance of the company. ."
"The only pro about working here is the pay! Forced overtime and constantly understaffed. VERY poor work-life balance and backstabbing culture. A lot of favoritism is shown here. If you are not willing to be a slave to management, watch your back. Stryker has a serious problem with diversity in its workforce. In 2022 that is very concerning. I think it's good for a resume booster and that's all. Get your experience and leave immediately."
"I've worked at Stryker for over a year now and I can say that they "try" to take care of their employees. With that being said, they always fall short. Their benefits are good, but your mental health is not worth any job. You will always remain a number to this company. No matter the effort you put in."
"The company has a robust structure in terms of quality systems. It also has a very strong confidence in the research and development group. Employees are appropriately recognized and acknowledged with their efforts and accomplishments. However, the company as an employer of consultants or contractors like me is not very recommendable because they require us to attach to a consulting firm ( a 3rd party) that charges us a chunk of money 30-35%, for a just processing our salary. This 3rd party didn't even helped me get this job. What's worse is that the 3rd party is located out of California and customer service is very poor.."
"A very good company to start your career. I have learned lots of things form the current company. A good place to work."
"It's a good company, I'm used to a tight-knit group working together helping one another. Felt The manager interfered making it harder to do your job, no communication the group I worked with was so much drama and backstabbing. Just hard to explain how I was treated. I would work there maybe for another group."
"Very fast-paced, ambitious, driven and the company is full of talented people. The focus is on talent over experience, understanding people’s individual strengths, and finding ways to develop people so they are continuously challenged and can grow."
"I have worked with Stryker over a year. The work environment is encouraging and supportive. I have learned good knowledge about professionalism and work ethic in bigger corporations through Stryker. It helped me shape my career."
"Stryker is a great company to work for and anyone who gets the opportunity to work at any of the facilities should jump at the chance."
"Stryker is a great place to work. You will work among professionals who are highly regarded within the industry. It is a company that strives for its employee's success."
