"No reward for doing anything more then nothing. No raises, no awards, no thanks."

"stop letting your gun club buddies do nothing but read magazines all day"

"Do your job and do it well. If the people in charge don't like it, too bad."

"The governing board has it in for me, so my ability to do my job is limited."

"I don't think I would change much. The person does a good job."

"Employees seem friendly. Thier is a lot of work to do so you will stay busy. They will allow you to work on aspects out side your roles. Most manager are understanding about comp time and working around personal appointments."

"Unless you are looking for a job without a career path, cancle the interview."

What don't you like about working at State of Texas?

"The COO micro-manages the division. He has no backbone and does not take responsibility for his division. He manages through fear and creates an unstable working environment. He is not respected and if often the source of jokes."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop the double dipping. Once an individual decides to leave (retire or otherwise) they should not be able to continue working there. Every individual that has left (including retired) and came back, does so with an attitude that makes it difficult for everyone else."

"I had a lot of free time to surf the web/do whatever I wanted during work."

"Interview somewhere else unless you have little to no marketability."

"It's crap. The people here are stupid and inefficient. Too many uneducated people working for government making it even more inefficient."

"Almost everything. The government is very inefficient. I wouldn't have cubicles."

"Take a long term view, the pay is not always the best but pension is a real benefit."

"Constant rehashing of the same ground over turf wars with no progress."

"I wouldn't change a thing, although change suggestions would be accepted."
